Surgery Care
We understand the stress that goes along with putting your furry friend under anesthesia for a dental or surgical procedure. Rest assured that your pet is in safe hands with the highly trained team at Williamsburg Animal Hospital. From the start, our team members will be monitoring vital signs and giving the care your pet deserves. We use monitoring equipment along with our trained staff to ensure your pet is doing well throughout the procedure.
There are risks associated with surgery and anesthesia, but we take every precaution to ensure they are in the safest hands. If something is concerning, we will be sure to call you and determine the best decision given any circumstance.
Williamsburg Animal Hospital offers a brand-new surgery suite to provide a sterile and safe environment providing the majority of soft tissue surgeries including:
-
Spay/Neuter
-
Splenectomy (Removing the spleen)
-
Gastrotomy (Stomach surgery)
-
Enterotomy (Small intestinal surgery)
-
Gastropexy (stomach tacking)
-
Mass removals
-
Cystotomy (Bladder surgery)
-
Pyometra (Uterine infection)
Please be aware that all anesthetic and surgical procedures, regardless of age require pre-anesthetic bloodwork within 2 months of the procedure. This allows us to decrease the risk of going under anesthesia on top of the physical exam we perform morning of the surgery.
